Ep. #112 - Charged

Monday Feb 27, 2017

Monday Feb 27, 2017

The Nintendo Switch is in the hands of games press but one question still perplexes Josh: how are the Joy-cons charged and what the is the Charging Grip?
Horizon: Zero Dawn is on the horizon and all anyone wants to do is compare it to Witcher 3 - much to the chagrin of 2v1. Alex shares early impressions of Halo Wars 2, Nick loves Nioh but it isn't Dark Souls, and Josh will never complete Final Fantasy XV.
Also discussed: Resident Evil 7's DLC, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dragon's Dogma and emails from you: the listener!

Ep. #111 - A Dangerous Deal

Monday Feb 20, 2017

Monday Feb 20, 2017

What was your first concert? Warning, Uncharted 4 spoilers 54:50-1:04.00.
This week, 2v1 spends some time with their friend Larry, who sits in for Alex while he's away. There's lots of talk about heavy metal music, hangovers and re-visiting older games that we all remember fondly (sort of).
Dragon's Dogma is a weird gem from last gen that Nick & Larry love, an upcoming game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance looks to chase & refine what made Elder Scrolls interesting, Nioh has too much loot, Uncharted 4 and Last of Us are the same, and Decksplash is weird.

Nioh is finally here and Nick loves it. Final Fantasy XV is difficult to complete for many reasons. Fire Emblem Heroes seems pointless.
2v1 answers a few listener questions this week: PS4 vs Xbox in 2017's first quarter and discussion on games the boys loved in the past but may not have held up over the years.
Josh is good at eating (excluding burritos), For Honor is still a game, and your Vizio television is watching you eat yourself to death while you binge on Netflix.

Ep. #109 - Resident Evilcast

Monday Feb 06, 2017

Monday Feb 06, 2017

SPOILER ALERT: 2v1 spends a portion of this week's episode discussing everything about Resident Evil VII (31:00-58:30).
The boys are joined once again by long-fan and friend, Caley, to talk about Final Fantasy, Twin Peaks, Ghost Recon: Wildlands and more.
The next Nintendo mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes, is released and seems competent. Josh got a fidget cube. What's football?

Ep. #108 - Biohazard

Monday Jan 30, 2017

Monday Jan 30, 2017

How many chairs do you have in your house/apartment?
Resident Evil VII is a return to form for fans like Alex - bringing back limited ammo, doors locked with medallions and a creepy mansion to explore. Nick is surprisingly in love with Final Fantasy XV. Dirt 4 is announced.

Ep. #107 - Ni-OH!

Monday Jan 23, 2017

Monday Jan 23, 2017

The video game world is still reeling from the Nintendo Switch announcement. Do game install sizes matter with cartridges? Is it fair to show a premium accessory in promotional material? Is 1 2 Switch even a game?
Nick & Josh check out a new early access game, Pit People, a humorous tactical turn-based RPG from The Behemoth. The biggest item is Nioh - the next character action game from Team Ninja (and possible refinement on the Souls genre). Watch Nick & Josh check out the Last Chance Trial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp7AtEVI9lE&t=112s
Also discussed: January's free games, Batman Arkham VR, Gwent and Resogun.

Monday Jan 16, 2017

All is revealed: the Nintendo Switch is a video game console.
2v1 spends a majority of this week's episode discussing the recent Nintendo Switch Presentation where Nintendo announced prices, dates, games and High Definition Rumble, which allows you to guess how many imaginary ice cubes are in an imaginary glass.
Josh doesn't understand how sequels work, Alex doesn't agree with Sony's digital wallet practices and Nick likes Dishonored 2 but doesn't want to play it.
Also discussed: Superhot, should anyone still buy a 3DS, Forza Horizon 3, Bloodborne, and the cancellation of Scalebound.

Ep. #105 - Must-try

Monday Jan 09, 2017

Monday Jan 09, 2017

The Last Guardian is a special experience for Nick (while extremely flawed), Alex is disappointed with Dead Rising 4, Josh is still playing Final Fantasy XV.
Nothing has changed at 2v1, where achievements are still a touchy subject (and so is Spelunky). Nick isn't impressed with Nier: Automata's demo on PS4 but it may have potential. Nuclear Throne seemingly takes the repetitive nature of roguelikes too far, and Batman: TellTale is broken like every TellTale game.

Ep. #104 - Peaks-y

Monday Jan 02, 2017

Monday Jan 02, 2017

It's the dawn of the year 2017 and 2v1 returns after a much-needed holiday to talk about the games they didn't play over break. Josh has an impossible schedule so friend of the show Cody Mr. Yody returns to talk about some of the best games of 2016 with Nick & Alex.
Let It Die won't die, Heroes of the Storm is a more accessible MOBA, Oxenfree is overhyped and Nick & Alex attempt to finally explain why they reference Twin Peaks and David Lynch all the time.

Ep. #103 - Goodbye 2016

Monday Dec 26, 2016

Monday Dec 26, 2016

2v1 looks forward to 2017 which is shaping up to be another great year of video games.
Everyone plays the free levels of Super Mario Run but don't find it worth $10 (even though it has some interesting things going for it). Nick is still playing Duelyst and hates Christmas shopping. Josh runs down the expected game releases of 2017.
